Beneath mountains that rise straight from the sea, Fiordland’s underwater world unfolds in deep, crystal-clear water. Glacially carved walls descend into shadow and waterfalls cascade through the silent wilderness. Life here thrives in unexpected abundance, colour and diversity.

Black corals, hydrocorals, rays, sharks, seals, dolphins, eels, nudibrachs and vast lobster populations inhabit these vertical walls + reefs, alongside more than 150 recorded fish species. Each descent reveals layers shaped by ice, time and isolation - a rare meeting of alpine and ocean environments.

This is a place where exploration still matters. New observations are made on every expedition and no two dives are ever the same.

“Fiordland is the last frontier of underwater exploration” - Captain Jacques

Fiordland holds the highest concentration of Black coral of anywhere on Earth. Come join us exploring the remotest dive sites within New Zealand.
